Researchers from Israel are said to have been able to isolate coronavirus antibodies and use them as a drug. This should complete the development of a Covid 19 vaccine. The institute now wants to register a patent and find companies for mass production.
In Israel, researchers isolate coronavirus antibodies. Defense Minister Naftali Bennett said the move was a “significant breakthrough” towards possible treatment for the Covid 19 pandemic. The “monoclonal neutralizing antibody” developed at the Israel Institute for Biological Research (IIBR) could neutralize the disease-causing novel coronavirus in the bodies of the wearer, said Bennett.
The IIBR is part of a secret entity that reports to Prime Minister Ness Ziona. The statement goes on to say that the development of the vaccine has been completed and the institute now wants to patent it.
Then the next important step should follow: “In the next phase, researchers will turn to international companies to produce the antibody on a commercial scale,” reports the “Times of Israel”. It has not been reported whether the developed vaccine has been tested on humans.
In Israel, many scientists are working on possible treatment approaches for Covid 19 patients. Researchers around the world have ramped up their efforts to find a suitable vaccine against the Sars Cov 2 virus as soon as possible to stop the pandemic.
In Germany alone, there are several research projects on possible vaccines. However, Federal Research Minister Karliczek had just yesterday dampened expectations of a rapid vaccine against the coronavirus.
