AS IDX1R, a subsidiary company of IPAS “Indexo”, which in the future, after receiving the bank license, will become “Indexo” bank, has submitted a request to the Commercial Register to register the board and council of AS IDX1R in a new composition.

The changes foresee that Valdis Siksnis will become the chairman of the board of the company and the future “Indexo” bank. On the other hand, Valdis Vancovičs was elected as the chairman of the council.

Also, members of the board of the newly formed “Indexo” bank will be Tīna Kukka, who is currently the bank’s project licensing manager and will later be the bank’s finance manager, Vladimirs Bolbats, who is in charge of the development of the bank’s offer of services for private individuals, Gints Ozoliņš, whose competence is technology development, Evija Sloka, who will be the bank’s risk manager, Ieva Margeviča, as the bank’s marketing and communication manager, and Līga Katrīna Kļaviņa, who will be the bank’s compliance manager.

Valdi Siksni has more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry, including ten years as the manager of the Latvian branch of Nordea banka. In 2017, Valdis and his associates founded an innovative pension management company IPAS “Indexo”, which promoted competition in the Latvian pension market and is currently the fastest growing pension management company in Latvia. Valdis is also a consultant at the financial consulting company Callidus Capital, and in the past he has also served on the boards of Nordea Bank Polska, SIA Latvijas Piens, Latvian Commercial Bank Association, the American Chamber of Commerce in Latvia and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Latvia. Currently, Valdis also fulfills the duties of a member of the Council of the Latvian Basketball Union.

Tīna Kukka, who will be the bank’s finance manager in the future, previously worked for many years in several leading Latvian commercial banks, including being a member of the board of Swedbank for more than ten years, but later, during the restructuring process of Parex banka, dividing the bank’s assets and implementing the creation of a new bank, Parex got involved in the process of bank administration. T. Kukka also worked for several years on the merger of the Baltic operations of DNB banka and Nordea banka, which resulted in the creation of Luminor banka. Vladimirs Bolbats, the head of the private services direction of the future “Indexo” bank, has worked for 13 years at Swedbank, where under his leadership several financial services and innovations were introduced, such as contactless payment cards, instant payments, the distribution of Robur investment funds and others were launched.

On the other hand, Gintas Ozoliņas, head of the bank’s technology direction, has more than 25 years of experience in the banking, telecommunications and IT services industries. G. Ozoliņš has worked in several large companies both in the Baltics and in Sweden. Ieva Margevičas, the marketing and communication manager of the future bank, will give the new financial institution and the management team the knowledge that was previously strengthened at the energy company Enefit and Latvijas Pasta Bank. Ieva is currently also a member of the board of the pension management company IPAS “Indexo”.

Līga Katrīna Kļaviņa, who will be the bank’s compliance manager in the future, has a CAMS certificate (USA) in money laundering prevention management and she has gained her professional experience for more than 15 years both in the banking sphere and in financial technology companies. Evija Sloka – risk manager of the future bank – has worked in the Latvian commercial banking sector for more than 30 years, including being a member of the board of Expobank, responsible for ensuring financial and internal control functions, as well as managing credit risk control and internal audit functions in Swedbank.

On the other hand, in addition to the chairman of the board Valdis Vancovič, the members of the board of the future “Indexo” bank will also be Sven Dinsdorf, who will be the deputy chairman of the board, Renāts Lokomets, Ramona Miglāne and Ivita Asare.

Valdis Vancovičs is a business management professional with more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Sven Dinsdorf has 20 years of experience in financial management. Renat Lokomet has more than 25 years of experience in the financial sector. Ramona Miglānei has more than 20 years of experience in law, she is a legal expert recognized in Chambers Europe, Chambers Global, Legal500 and IFLR1000 international directories. Ivita Asare has more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry.

After the start of operation of “Indexo” bank, the current member of the board and co-founder of “Indexo”, Henriks Karmo, who has more than 20 years of experience in financial management, will become the chairman of the board of IPAS “Indexo”, and he is also a member of the board of the Lithuanian pension administration company Goindex, UAB and the Estonian pension administration company Tulundusühistu Tuleva.

Coordination of all board and council candidates with the financial sector supervisory institutions in Latvia and the European Union is part of the licensing process.

As previously reported, in parallel with the pension administration, “Indexo” is actively working on the project of a new commercial bank and submitted an application for a bank license at the end of last year. Also, “Indexo” is working on the development of the newly established bank’s service offer, the creation of IT systems and risk management models, and other issues related to the operation of the future bank.

Obtaining a commercial bank (credit institution) license requires the consent of the European Central Bank based on the proposal of the Bank of Latvia.
