At the end of May, Microsoft plans to release the next Windows feature update. Until then, Microsoft is still working on some problems. Meanwhile, Intel has already renewed its video drivers and provides a first update that already supports the next version of 1903. This reports, among other things, the online magazine Windows Latest. He also declares that the driver is now compatible with Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) 2.6 and supports the DirectX 12 Shader Model 6.4 compiler on 7th or newer Intel Core processors or with Intel HD Graphics 610 or later.
Intel offers download drivers through the Intel Graphics Control Room app available on the Windows Store and on the Intel website.
The driver gets some important fixes, especially for games:
- In Devil May Cry 5 (DX11) there were crashes or temporary hooks
- Minor graphic anomalies have been observed in Re-Legion, Arma 3 (only sixth generation processors) and Dreamfall the Longest Journey
- Rise of the Tomb Raiders may display an error message when running DX12
However, there are some known problems, such as minor graphics anomalies in Apex Legends (low quality settings with TSAA disabled only on sixth generation processors), Devil May Cry 5 (DX12), Generation Zero and Tom Clancy's The Division 2 (DX12). as well as crashes or temporary hooks in Year 1800 (DX12) and World War Z (volcano).
The driver requires at least Windows 10 version 1709, or the update of Fall Maker, as well as Intel Core processors of sixth or newer.
The Intel Xeon E3-1500M v5 family and Celeron and Pentium processors with Intel HD Graphics 500, 505, 600, 605 and UHD Graphics 600 and 605 are also supported.
