It has been an unrecognized problem for years, and yet an estimated one in ten is living with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Complaints such as abdominal pain and abnormal bowel movements do not make IBS not a sexy topic of conversation at the coffee machine, but given it occurs so often, gastrointestinal specialist Heiko De Schepper (UZA) wants to clear up the biggest misconceptions about it.
