Island became the fourth in history: the Chileans of Flamengo

What was an open secret was confirmed this Wednesday: Mauritius Island became new player of Flamengo. The right lane signed until the end of 2022 with the cast of Rio de Janeiro and it became the fourth Chilean to defend the colors of “Mengao”.

The first to do so was Gonzalo Fierro. After great campaigns in national football with Colo Colo, the “Young Gunman” caught the attention of the “Fla” ​​and stayed for three years at the institution (2008 – 2011).

Then it was the turn of Claudio Maldonado. The former midfielder forged a brilliant career in Brazilian soccer and defended the jersey of important casts, such as Santos, Sao Paulo and Cruzeiro. He also wore that of the Rio team between 2009 and 2012.

The last to do so was Marcos González. The one born in Rio de Janeiro arrived at the club in that same city after the brilliant campaign of the Universidad de Chile at the 2011 South American Cup. He was at the club for two years (2012 – 2014).
