Germani Brescia is pleased to announce the purchase of Jeremiah Wilson, a 32-year-old US player in possession of a Portuguese passport. Wilson, who in the last few hours has concluded his experience with the Arab team of Al-Ittihad, has already played in Italy in the 2017-2018 season, wearing the Andrea Costa Imola jersey, and in the last championship, wearing the jersey of ‘S.Bernardo Cantù water.
THE CARD | Born in Chicago on April 19, 1988, Jeremiah Wilson is a college product of Tarleton State, Texas, averaging 10.8 points and 8.1 rebounds in his senior year. In 2010 he began his professional career in Argentina, playing for Atenas in Córdoba and 9 de Julio, club in Rio Tercero, also in the province of Córdoba.
In 2011 he moved to Chile, wearing the Unión Española shirt in a season that ended in first place in the special rankings of the best rebounders and blockers and third in that of the best scorers. In 2012 he also played in Australia, playing 27 games with the Cockburn Cougars.
In 2012 he began his first European experience, playing for BK Ostrava, a team from the Czech Republic. The following year he moved to Greece, being part of the Apollon Patras roster in a year that ended with the historic qualification for the playoffs.
After starting the 2014-2015 season in Israel in the ranks of Hapoel Gilboa Galil, he ends the year in Turkey, wearing the Denizli Belediye shirt. In the summer of 2015 he moved to Portugal, wearing the colors of Benfica, a team with which he also participates in the FIBA Europe Cup. With the Lusitanian team he won the championship and in the Portuguese Super Cup.
Between 2016 and 2017 he played 34 games in Poland at Dabrowa Gornicza and 24 in Mexico at Rayos de Hermosillo, then made his first experience in Italy in Imola, in Serie A2, where he played 30 games and closed the season with 14.5 points and 9.2 average rebounds.
Purchased by Hermine de Nantes Atlantique, a French Pro B team, he played 4 games with the transalpine team before moving to the Puerto Rican league, at Atléticos de San Germán. In the summer of 2018, however, he returned to the Breton city again, collecting 33 appearances in Pro B, with 13.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.
In the summer of 2019 he returns to Italy, this time in Serie A, joining the roster of Acqua S.Bernardo Cantù coached by Cesare Pancotto. Last season, closed early in March due to the pandemic, he collected 20 appearances, averaging 9.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
In the summer of 2020 he leaves Italy and moves to Saudi Arabia, to Al-Ittihad, where he closes his experience with 23.2 points, 15.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, also playing a match of 33 points and 29 rebounds.
Jeremiah Wilson boasts a total of 6 appearances for the Portuguese national team, with which he scored 71 points. The long man was also involved in the Eurobasket qualifying round matches, a competition that will be held in 2022, to which, however, the Lusitanian team was unable to qualify.
