Jimmy Kimmel hit the streets of Hollywood the day after the mid-term elections with some "false news".

The "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" The presenter pretended that Kid Rock won a seat in the Michigan Senate on Tuesday – and people really believed him.

Kimmel sent a correspondent to make jokes to the unsuspecting pedants during a special edition of "Kid Rock the Vote" by Kimmel "Lie Witness News", a segment in which he jokes spreading outlandish news to see if people fall in love with it.

The rock star, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, has hinted that he could apply for the Senate last year before apologizing for the elaborate publicity stunt, which included the sale of "Kid Rock for the United States Senate" products.

"We went out on the streets and told people that Kid Rock won the special elections for the Senate," Kimmel said. "We also showed them the Kid Rock sequences in concert and we told them it was his acceptance speech."

Kimmel continued: "Now look at how real people hang from a" false election ".

"I heard about it a little bit today in the morning," one person said when he heard the false news. "I did not go into too much detail, but I saw it on my phone."

The correspondent then asked people for their opinions on the alleged Kid Rock policies, which included the lowering of the age to buy 10 scratch cards and legalize crystal methamphetamine for medicinal purposes, and his supposed slogan of the campaign "Feel my fingers: no new taxes."

People appeared shocked and confused, but did not challenge information.

At the end of the segment, the unwary sent messages to the musician: "Senator … I am disgusted and upset by the fact that you have won," said one man.

Kid Rock is a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump, visiting the White House last month to sign the Music Modernization Act.
