Jordan crowned the West Asian Promising Championship title at the expense of Lebanon “A”

Jordan won the first edition of the West Asian Junior Championships (under 14) hosted by Lebanon, by defeating Lebanon “A” team 1-0 in the final match at the Fouad Shehab Sports Complex stadium in Jounieh.

Jordan owes this achievement to its player, Hala Marar, who scored the only winning goal in the 62nd minute of the second half, from a free kick that put her in the net of Lebanese goalkeeper Marie-Joe Shibli.

The Palestinian team had achieved third place in the tournament, by defeating Lebanon “B” team 2-0.

The first edition of the West Asian Women’s Championship was held in Lebanon from 8 to 14 January, with the participation of 4 teams representing 3 countries, with Lebanon participating with teams “A” and “B”, in addition to the teams of Jordan and Palestine.

The tournament was held in a single group system, where the four teams faced each other in the league system in the first round to determine the group’s ranking, and then the first and second place owners would face each other to determine the champion and the third and fourth place owners to determine the rest of the arrangement.

Lebanon’s “A” team topped the first round with 9 points, ahead of Jordan’s (6 points), while Palestine came third with 3 points, and Lebanon “B” fourth without points.
