Jose Mourinho has admitted that Manchester United will have no chance to beat rivals in the Premier League at any time if they continue to invest at the same pace.

On Friday, Mourinho's agent revealed that the manager has no intention of leaving Old Trafford and will see the rest of his contract.

However, when asked to look to his future at United, Mourinho has struggled to see a time when his team will be able to raise the title.

"I do not know," he said when he was asked to give it a period of time. "It depends on our evolution, but also on the evolution of others.

"If those above us continue in the same direction and if their ambition and investment are continuous, this is one thing.

"Another thing is if they stop, or if the Financial Fair Fair makes them stop and then we can fill a little bit." the gap is better.

"The world is full of suggestions and I never know if they are true or not true, and it is not my job to analyze it".

Liverpool have had to endure a period of 28 years since they won the highest English championship.

United did not win the championship after Sir Alex Ferguson's last season in 2013

And since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement at Old Trafford in 2013, some are wondering if United could endure a sterile spell similar to their Merseyside rivals.

Mourinho, however, was not able to say whether it would be like that.

"I do not know what happened in Liverpool," said Mourinho. "I only know the numbers, but I do not know why."

One thing is certain, however, at least according to his agent. Jorge Mendes insisted that Mourinho was there for the long term at United and reassured the fans that he was happy with the club.

"There were more rumors about Jose leaving Manchester United," said Mendes. "He is totally false, Jose is very happy with the club and the club is very happy with him.

"He has a long-term contract with Manchester United and is fully committed to the club to build a solid winning project."
