With his catchy single “Cordula Grün” the local songwriter Josh succeeded. a surprise hit. On his debut album “Von Mädchen und Farben”, released last year, the 33-year-old showed his wide musical spectrum – with stories from everyday life and life, touching and above all very colorful.
From Cordula to Corona
This year’s Eurovision Song Contest, which would have taken place in Rotterdam in mid-May, is unfortunately canceled due to the corona crisis this year: Austria would have been represented by Vincent Bueno (“Alive”), but he was eliminated in the second semi-final.
Now luminary Stefan Raab has come up with a replacement program, namely the “Free European Song Contest”. For Austria it’s not Bueno, it’s Josh. compete with his new single “Wo sind du”, released on May 1st. In addition to Austria, 14 other countries will be represented, including Kazakhstan, Ireland, Italy, Bulgaria, Spain, Poland, Netherlands, Great Britain, Switzerland, Denmark, Turkey, Israel, Croatia and Germany. Whether Stefan Raab is even competing for Germany – that would be his first TV appearance in ages! – it is unknown yet. On Saturday from 8:15 p.m. we will all be smarter …
After the performances, viewers from Austria, Germany and Switzerland can award points from 1 to 8, 10 and 12 by phone and SMS, whereby you are not allowed to vote for your own country! The points are then awarded similar to the original ESC. The show will be moderated by Conchita Wurst and Steven Gätjen.
