A judge declared the former US president Donald Trump responsible for a charge of fraud in the civil process promoted by the New York State Attorney’s Office, who accused him of inflating his company’s assets for years to obtain better loan conditions and other economic benefits.

In a decision issued this Tuesday afternoon, the Judge Arthur Engoron gave reason to Prosecutor’s Office, who last week requested a partial summary judgment on the main charge in the case, that of fraud against Trump, his children Donald Jr. y Eric, the Trump Organization and several associates, leaving six other crimes to be resolved in the trial scheduled for October 2.

Trump and his children are, according to the judge, responsible for “continued” financial “fraud” in the 2010s in evaluating the assets of the family business Trump Organization, before the start of the civil trial in this case next week.

The New York State Attorney, Letitia James, who filed the complaint, demands a fine of 250 million dollars.
