This is a stop for Karim Benzema, indicted for blackmail in the case of the "sextape" Mathieu Valbuena. Almost three years after the first revelations, justice has decided, Thursday, November 8th: the investigation is valid.
A policeman, "Lukas", played under cover, has played for several weeks with intermediaries between Mathieu Valbuena and presumed master singers, six people including Mr. Benzema. The defense believed that this officer had exceeded his role in inciting a crime.

No "provocation to crime"
In his indictment, the prosecutor's office considered it did not exist "No provocation to the crime" and requested the validation of the investigation started in 2015.
The Court of Cassation gave a favorable opinion to Karim Benzema in July 2017, following the defense's arguments. But the decision of the Paris Court of Appeals on Thursday opens the door to a possible trial.
Karim Benzema remains banned from the team of France.
