The immune system is the body's natural defense system that helps fight infections.
The immune system is composed according to the site "MyHealth"Antibodies, white blood cells and other chemicals and proteins that attack and destroy substances such as bacteria and viruses that recognize them as foreign and different from normal healthy body tissues.
The immune system also includes:
1 – tonsils and thymus: which produce antibodies.
2. Lymph nodes and vessels (lymphatic system): this network of lymphatic nodes and vessels throughout the body carries lymphatic fluids, nutrients and waste between body tissues and blood flow. The lymph nodes filter the lymphatic fluid during its flow and block bacteria, viruses and foreign substances and then destroyed by special white blood cells called lymphocytes.
Configurations of the immune system
Bone marrow: this thin tissue is mainly found inside the long bones of the arms, legs, vertebrae and pelvic bones in the body and consists of:
The red marrow produces red and white blood cells and platelets.
A yellow marrow contains fat and connective tissue and produces some white blood cells.
4 – spleen: which filters the blood by removing the old or damaged blood or platelet cells and helps the immune system by destroying bacteria and foreign substances.
5 – White blood cells: blood cells make this type of cell in the bone marrow and protect the body from infections, if the infection, the white blood cells attack and destroy bacteria, viruses or other organisms that cause them.
