Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
The Covid-19 Handling Task Force released condition latest for domestic or long-distance travelers. This condition applies differently in each region by category PPKM Levels 4 and 3, and Levels 2 and 1.
For travel by sea and land transportation using private, public, crossing, and train vehicles in the PPKM Level 4 and 3 category areas, it is mandatory to show a vaccine card at least the first dose of vaccination and a negative RT-PCR result with a sample period of 2×24 hours before departure.
Meanwhile, travelers in the PPKM Level 2 and 1 category areas can show negative RT-PCR results whose samples were taken 2×24 hours before departure or rapid test antigen whose samples were taken within 1×24 hours before departure.
In addition to the above conditions, travelers are also required to comply with the 6M health protocol and use masks. Travelers are also not allowed to talk and eat and drink throughout the trip.
This new rule is contained in Circular Letter Number 16 of 2021 regarding Provisions for Travel of Domestic People During the Covid-19 Pandemic, which was signed by the Head of BNPB as Chair of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Ganip Warsito.
“That until now the daily positive number of COVID-19 cases has not decreased significantly, it is deemed necessary to break the chain of transmission by limiting people’s travel activities,” wrote the background of the SE, reported Tuesday (27/7).
This decision is the result of a cross-sectoral evaluation carried out with the consideration that public health protocol compliance is still low and provides opportunities for increased transmission of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, PPKM is tiered from the central to the community level whose determination is based on an assessment at the district/city level of indicators for adjusting public health efforts and social restrictions by the Minister of Health.
Other conditions, travelers under the age of 12 years are temporarily limited.
