Ligue 2: Caen held in check at Guingamp

Marked by the injury of Yacine Bammou, the Caennais perfectly managed the first 60 minutes of play on the lawn of Guingamp. Prince Oniangue, last-minute holder after Anthony Weber’s warm-up injury, opened the scoring with a header on a corner hit by Jessy Deminguet (26th). Ten minutes after the break, Pascal Dupraz’s men took a break with Alexandre Mendy. The strike countered by the ex-Guingampais deceived Guingamp goalkeeper Enzo Basilio.

Guingamp returned to the match

The Guingampais did not give up, in the 66th minute, Paul-Georges Ntep overflowed on the right of the area and crossed in front of the goal for Frantzdy Pierrot who struck a powerful header. Five minutes later, Sikou Niakaté scored the equalizer goal for Guingamp.

Guingamp, who could have moved away from the relegation zone, remains 17th in Ligue 2 with 25 points. Caen climbs to ninth place in the Championship tied with Le Havre with 34 points.
