Planned restyling Superba did not make serious visual changes. Other bumpers and the two front types appeared simultaneously, for simple and expensive versions. The grille has become wider and merged with the headlights, and now aft is a large chrome insert and a large inscription with the brand name instead of the emblem. The interior has acquired only new decors and a modified diode lighting. But the updated Superb has become richer.
Already in the basic configuration there is now an engine start button (although it is still located on the ignition lock site), headlights and LED rear lights, and the turn signals now work with the effect of a marquee , like those of the "older" Volkswagen brands. Another Superb was the first Skoda, for which at an additional cost proposed matrix headlights (Skoda Crystal Lighting), changing the shape of the beam, so as not to dazzle the other pilots.
Obviously, the multimedia system has been improved: there are a choice of 8.0 and 9.2 inch screens. The virtual instrument panel appeared in Superba even before the restyling ("in the base" are still quadrants). Finally, the functionality of electronic assistants has been extended. For example, the adaptive predictive Cruise Control uses the navigator and camera data to select the optimal speed and the automatic braking system recognizes pedestrians. The brake booster is now electromechanical.
The main range of engines for Europe after last year's revision under the Euro 6d-TEMP standard has not changed much. Unless the 1.6 TDI turbo diesel (120 hp) returned, and the updated 2.0 TDI Evo engine (150 hp) replaced the previous unit with the same parameters. Turbo TSI 1.5 TSI (150 hp) and 2.0 TSI (190 or 272 hp) plus the more powerful 2.0 TDI diesel (190 hp) are also available. Reducers – six-speed "mechanical" or seven-step "robot" DSG.
But this new thing does not end there. The Skoda Superb Scout "off-road" station wagon first appeared in the modernized range. A similar version was already present in the second-generation Superba: it had the Outdoor prefix and differed from the basic station wagon by a characteristic plastic kit, but the suspension and the ground clearance remained standard, and the unit it could be both full and front. In addition, the new Scout has a greater ground clearance of 15 mm (actually, it is a normal package for bad roads), additional engine protection and standard all-wheel drive.
The interior is decorated with "under the tree" inserts and a special seam, and several bright options have been added to the body color palette. But the choice of engines is low: only the most powerful 2.0 TSI (272 hp) and 2.0 TDI diesel (190 hp) petrol engine, both combined with the DSG single-handed robot.
Skoda Superb Scout
Finally, the first for the rechargeable hybrid Skoda Superb iV appeared in the range. With this two-letter prefix, the company will now denote all electrified models, including clean electric cars. Well, technically, the Superb hybrid repeats the Volkswagen Passat GTE, which has been released since 2015 and has recently undergone modernization.
A 1.4 TSI petrol engine (156 hp, 250 Nm) is installed under the engine hood, and a synchronous electric motor that emits 115 hp is integrated between it and the six-speed DSG "robot". and 330 Nm. High efficiency hybrid installation – 218 hp and 400 Nm. Furthermore, a clutch is installed between the petrol engine and the electric motor, which can disable the engine, and Superb iV will be able to drive on pure electric drive : operation in this mode is 55 km along the WLTP cycle. The lithium ion traction battery with a capacity of 13 kW ∙ h is installed under the rear seat, it takes 3.5 hours to recharge it from the terminal. Europeans should like this Superb, and the hybrid is offered in the form of a liftback and station wagon.
Skoda Superb iV
In Russia, the updated Skoda Superb will appear at the end of the year, but neither the hybrid nor the Scout has yet to shine. Even our range of engines will change very little, except that the 1.8 TSI engine (180 bhp) will start a version of the two-liter turbo engine deformed to 190 forces.
