The Spanish startup Luzia, one of the first to launch an artificial intelligence assistant, has raised 9.5 million euros of capital so as not to be left behind in the race to develop the best products with this technology.
The company, which has one of the most popular AI assistants in Whatsapp y Telegram, thus closes its third round in six months, the largest to date. Among the company’s main investors are Pau Gasol, through Gasol16 Venturesy Khosla Venturesan American investment fund with a long history of success in its portfolio such as the payments company Stripe and betting such as Worldcointhe digital identity company of Sam Altman, the creator of ChatGPT.
Luzia will use the funds to expand into new markets and expand its team of developers, based in Spain. The company has 17 million users and has processed a total of 880 million questions. Among its functions, it allows you to transcribe audio messages to text or generate images. Among its key markets beyond Spain are Argentina, Mexico, Brazil and Colombia. To use the assistant, which undertakes to anonymize the data entered and not use it for commercial purposes, simply save the contact in your mobile phone’s address book and write to it via Whatsapp and Telegram.
Luzia is a startup that well represents some of the trends that are being imposed in the Spanish entrepreneurial ecosystem, such as the growing role of serial entrepreneurs – those who have created several companies.
