Formerly of London „Arsenal“ and Madrid „Real“ player Mesutas Ozils announced the end of his career at the age of 34.
“After much consideration, I announce that I am retiring from professional football. I have had the privilege of being a professional soccer player for almost 17 years and I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity I have been given. In recent weeks and months I have suffered injuries, it has become increasingly clear that it is time to leave the big stage of football.
It was an amazing trip full of unforgettable moments and emotions. I want to thank the clubs I represented: “Schalke 04”, “Werder”, “Real”, “Arsenal”, “Fenerbahce”, “Basaksehir” and the coaches who supported me and the teammates who became friends”, M. Ozil said.
