The great victory of Manchester City, against its Belgian host Club Brugge, “5-1” in the group stage of the Champions League, brought a remarkable number for Algerian Riyad Mahrez.
Mahrez scored two goals in City’s five, one of them from a penalty kick, to become the Algerian player with the most scoring in the Champions League, with 13 goals.
Mahrez surpassed the record of the former Algerian legend who won the Champions League with Porto, Rabah Madjer.
Mahrez participated in a total of 11 matches with the Citizens this season, 6 in the English Premier League, 3 in the Champions League and another in the Cup, in addition to the Charity Shield, scoring 6 goals.
