Martin Kennedy, former NRL player in court for the illegal reproduction of reptiles

Former NRL player Martin Kennedy received more than $ 100,000 from an unlicensed reptile trader to breed snakes, he was told in a court in Sydney.

The 30-year-old is convicted of trying to import regulated live animals and other animals into Australia.

A former Sydney and Brisbane prop, Kennedy's career ended after being banned by an anti-doping court ahead of the 2016 NRL season,

Neil Simpson, an illegal reptile breeder and convicted fraudster, denied involvement in the Kennedy crime and today told the Downing Center district court that he gave Kennedy $ 109,000 to buy and breed albino snakes between 2012 and 2016.
