Now more Puerto Rican families based in the United States will have the opportunity to acquire Marvel’s iconic El Gordito hamburger, due to the start of an export plan announced by local manufacturer Marvel International Inc.
Currently, the product is available in more than 100 Walmart stores in regions that have a high concentration of Puerto Ricans, such as the state of Florida, New Jersey and Virginia, among others.
“We are very proud to start exporting El Gordito from Marvel and to be able to provide Puerto Rican families in the United States with one of their favorite products. With this introduction to the market, we hope to make them feel at home, and also open up to other Latino communities within the regions where we are distributing this hamburger, ”said Janelle Vázquez, brand manager.
In addition, he indicated that the distribution of the product is already available in select Walmart stores in the states of Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, Maine, New Jersey, Philadelphia, New Hampshire and Virginia. Throughout the year it is expected to bring the product to more than 200 stores across other states and regions.
For his part, Eduardo Collado, director of the Marvel International plant, highlighted the benefit provided by the export for the manufacturer, since it allows for greater production of the hamburger and an additional contribution to the economy. “With this opportunity to export El Gordito from Marvel we continue to grow at the production level, which we do from our local plant. It is a pride for all of us to carry a product like El Gordito from Marvel that has more than 55 years of being an icon of Puerto Rican culture ”, he pointed out.
By the end of last year 2019, Marvel International also began exporting its Del Campo products, soups and ready-to-eat mashed potatoes made locally in Puerto Rico.
