British Prince Charles supports a digital initiative in the UK to commemorate victims of the coronavirus. The online book is an initiative of St Paul’s Cathedral in London. Survivors can post a free message and photo online of someone who has died from the virus and lives in the UK, free of charge. The commemorated people don’t have to be religious.
Charles hopes the book will become a document commemorating multiple aspects of the victims. “The virtual book is there to help us remember, not only to reflect on the loss and grief, but also to be grateful for all the good that those we loved have brought us into life and all that they have given others, “said Charles, who has recovered from the corona virus himself.
The prince considers it important that there is commemoration. “People of every faith, and without it, believe that every person is unique and valuable. We also believe that it is essential to remember: we think back to how our lives, individually and collectively, were shaped by joy and sorrow from the past, so that we can look to the future with hope. “
