The incidence of measles in Ukraine is growing

Local authorities intend to prohibit school and maternal visits to those children who are not immunized against measles.

In one of the schools in the Limansky district, in the Odessa region, a measles epidemic was recorded. Reports on Dumskaya referring to local authorities on Thursday 6 December.

"In the village of Ivanovo, nine children became ill – eight pupils in the first class and one pupil zero – all under the supervision of doctors," says the report.

In connection with the measles epidemic, a district committee meeting was held in the District Administration of Limansky on issues of ecological safety and technical emergencies. It approved a plan of measures to prevent further spread of the disease.

In particular, it is planned to carry out immunization of at-risk groups, to prohibit school and maternal visits to children who are not immunized against measles, and to conduct disease prevention activities.

Previously it was reported that in Ukraine the incidence of measles continues to grow. In the last week, morbidity statistics increased by 11.5% compared to the previous period: 741 adults and 1603 children.
