In Ukraine, measles are rampant
From the beginning of the year, ten people have already died of measles in Ukraine, including three children.
In Ukraine, a decrease in the incidence of measles has been recorded. During the 9th week of 2019, 2 524 people became ill with measles – 1 230 adults and 1 312 children, according to the press service of the Ministry of Health.
It was noted that during the week of reporting in the Khmelnytsky region due to measles, a child died 25 days from birth. In general, according to the Ministry of Health, ten people have already died this year, including three children. After the outbreak of the epidemic, measles have already taken 31 lives.
Between 28 December 2018 and 1 March 2019, 26 500 sick people with measles were ill-treated in Ukraine: 11.797 adults and 14.747 children. The highest incidence rates are in the Lviv, Vinnytsia, Rivne and Khmelnitsky regions and in Kiev.
Recall that the Ministry of Health refuses to declare a measles epidemic in Ukraine, despite the fact that in 2019 the incidence rate is several times higher than that of last year.
