The riders of Jumbo-Visma with yellow jersey carrier Primoz Roglic and Tom Dumoulin determine the pace, Tadej Pogacar (in white) follows.
MÉRIBEL – Behind upcoming stage winner Miguel Angel Lopez a magnificent spectacle emerged. On the Col de la Loze, also called the ‘Hell of the Alps’, one Slovenian, Tadej Pogacar, was in pursuit of the other, Primoz Roglic. Button seemed to pull himself towards his compatriot in the final kilometers like a rope, whereupon Rogla over and over again. The most important conclusion of the otherwise boring seventeenth Tour stage was that Roglic won seventeen counts on Pogacar and thus came one step closer to the overall victory.
