Microsoft will buy Obsidian Entertainment and inXilie Entertainment

To close the X018 Inside Xbox news wave, Microsoft announced that the Microsoft Game Studios family is about to grow. This is because the company has announced that it will buy from inXilie Entertainment and Obisdian Entertainment.

In case you did not know, inXilie Entertainment is the development team of Brian Fargo, who gave us similar products Wasteland 2 is The story of the Bard. On the other hand, Obsidian Entertainment is a company that is best known for its acclaimed RPG games. Among its catalog of games there are Fallout: New Vegas, Pillars of Eternity is South Park: The Stick of Truth.

It is important to remember that, according to Microsoft, both companies will continue to work independently and freely. So, the big news is that their next projects will be exclusive for Microsoft platforms, such as Xbox One and Windows 10.

"Although they share a common past, both creative teams are very different," said Matt Booty, Microsoft's corporate vice president. "They will continue to operate independently with their unique talents, IP and experience as part of Microsoft Studios, Obisdian and inXilie will have the support and freedom to realize their creative ambitions in existing franchises and new RPG projects" .

What do you think about it? Do you think that Obsidian and inXilie can do great jobs for Xbox? Tell us in the comments.
