Moscow threatens to confiscate European assets if Brussels allocates Russian funds to Ukraine

The president of the Duma the chamber of deputies of RussiaViacheslav Volodin today warned that his country will confiscate the assets of unfriendly countries if the European Union (EU) channels for the reconstruction of Ukraine the benefits from Russian assets frozen within the framework of war sanctions.

“Such a decision will require the Russian Federation a symmetrical response. In that case, many more assets belonging to unfriendly countries will be confiscated than our frozen resources on European territory,” Volodin wrote on his Telegram channel.
