After a long wait, Motorola unveiled its Moto Razr 2022 foldable phone, which comes with a distinctive design, an improved screen, and a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.
The new Motorola phone is the third generation of its foldable phones, and this year’s Moto Razr 2022 features a set of improvements that start from the external appearance of the phone and extend to the processor and performance.
Moto Razr 2022 specifications
The main screen size of the phone is 6.7 inches, just like the previous version, but that is the only similarity between the two screens, only the size.
The new Moto Razr 2022 display is an improved AMOLED panel that curves in a pear shape to close completely when folded, supports HDR10+ and comes with a refresh rate of 144Hz.
Motorola also changed the design of the selfie camera in the new version. Instead of the notch, the phone comes with a hole at the top of the screen that houses a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
When the phone is folded, we find a small 2.7-inch OLED screen, almost the same as the small screen in the previous version.
This external screen on the Moto Razr 2022 comes alongside one of the phone’s main camera, allowing the main camera to be used for taking selfies as well.
Speaking of the camera, we find the main camera here based on a 50-megapixel 1/1.55-inch sensor and OIS identical to that used in the Edge 30 Pro and S30 Pro.
Along with a second camera, it is a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a field of view of 121 degrees.
The previous two Moto Razr phones had the Snapdragon 7xx chipset, but finally, the Moto Razr 2022 comes with the flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.
Other specs include support for RAW shooting, MyUI 4.0 that has redesigned some apps to work on the external display as well, dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support, and proper DC dimming.
