“Apart from Ukraine, the entire European security architecture is at stake. The Russian government, by deliberately removing references to the EU from the “draft treaties” presented last December, appears to be turning the clock back and back to the old logic of the Cold War, “Borrell wrote on his blog on Sunday.
“We need to be clear that without Europeans, there will be no debate on security in Europe,” he said.
Mr Borrell emphasized the need for dialogue and said that self-restraint, determination and strong support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and integrity were also essential.
“Any further aggression against Ukraine will have huge consequences and high costs for Russia. We are closely aligning our approach with transatlantic (organizations) and other like-minded partners. There is no security in Europe without Ukraine’s security, “Borrell wrote.
