Nadal recognized the people from Mendoza who participated in the National Academic Olympics of Medical Students of the Clinical Cycle: Mendoza Government Press

The meeting was declared of provincial interest by the Ministry of Health, Social Development and Sports of the Government of Mendoza. The objective of the activity was to be a self-assessment method for the students that would return their gaze to the authorities and teachers who accompany the academic training process of the future professional.

The Minister of Health, Social Development and Sports, Ana María Nadal, awarded recognitions to the Mendoza citizens who participated in the sixth edition of the National Academic Olympiad for Medical Students of the Clinical Cycle. Also present were the dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the National University of Cuyo, Roberto Miguel Miatello; the Undersecretary for Planning, Yanina Mazzaresi, and the Director of Social Economy, Lorena Meschini.

The Mendoza delegation received garments made by entrepreneurs from the Hilvanadas textile workshop of the CRL Milenio.

Nadal highlighted the participation of Mendoza students and noted that, both for them and for the seamstresses, “it is about closing a virtuous circle for everyone.”

Meschini, meanwhile, maintained that “these actions contribute to the generation of genuine work linking producers of the social economy with local consumers.”

One of the seamstresses thanked on behalf of the association for the completion of this first purchase.

The dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences highlighted the joint work of his team with the ministry. In addition, he highlighted the academic level of the students, who for the seventh consecutive year participate in the Olympics, being a model for other public academic units in the country.

National Academic Olympiad of Medical Students of the Clinical Cycle

It was organized by the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the UNCuyo as a complement to the already traditional National Basic Cycle Olympics held by the National University of Córdoba for 29 years. This latest edition was held from November 11 to 13, at the Gran Hotel Uspallata, with the participation of six national universities.

The activity had the objective of bringing together in competition the best performing students of the last year of the national medicine careers, in honor of their outstanding performances in each faculty.

It is important to note that the activity received the declaration of provincial interest issued by the Ministry of Health, Social Development and Sports of the Government of Mendoza. In this way, an event that proposed to be a self-assessment method for students, which would return their gaze to the authorities and teachers who accompany the academic training process of the future professional, acquires a dimension that exceeds the merely academic.

The meeting sought to promote integration between future doctors, based on respect and acknowledging differences, putting knowledge among peers to the test as an incentive for permanent improvement.

The teams participating in this edition came from the following study houses:

  • National University of Tucuman (UNT)
  • National University of Córdoba (UNC)
  • National University of the Northeast (UNNE)
  • National University of La Plata (UNLP)
  • National University of Rosario (UNR)
  • National University of Cuyo (UNCuyo)
