The assistant general of the Puerto Rico National Guard (GNPR), José Reyes reported on Wednesday, that they will soon manage six regional warehouses to help the Government of Puerto Rico with the distribution of food for the 78 municipalities of the island.
“We are joining all our efforts to help alleviate the situation our people are going through and we will continue in these missions as long as necessary for the well-being of all Puerto Ricans,” Reyes said in a written communication.
He explained that in these warehouses, the National Guard personnel will deliver food to the municipalities through their representatives to be distributed to the citizens.
On the other hand, Reyes mentioned that in the homes of the elderly, National Guard teams are coordinating visits to reach more than 1,000 homes, where military personnel, in collaboration with 330 Centers, will be administering both the rapid test and molecular testing of residents and household employees.
The GNPR has visited 26 homes where 1,423 tests have been carried out to prevent the entry and spread of the virus in this community.
