Navjot Singh Sidhu resigns as Minister of Punjab | News from India

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned as minister of the Punjab government on Sunday. Congress leader published his resignation letter dated June 10, addressed to Rahul Gandhi, on his official Twitter account.

Last month, after the cabinet reshuffle, Sidhu was assigned the new and renewable energy portfolio. Shortly after the reshuffle, he went into solitary confinement.
Earlier this week, Prime Minister Amarinder Singh held a meeting to review the state of power in the state in the absence of Sidhu.
An "adamant" Sidhan has not taken up the new charge since June 6 when he was assigned to the portfolios of local governments and tourism and cultural affairs in a cabinet reshuffle, the first after Lok Sabha's election results.
