The move from Lebron James to the Los Angeles Lakers was the dominant theme in the NBA last summer. After the first season is clear: Sporting, it is not yet around. The Lakers have missed the playoff participation. That had not happened to James before for 14 years.
In another area, however, the move from "King James" to L.A. has paid off: as the NBA announced, the # 23 Lakers jersey is the most-sold jersey of the season. For the past three years, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors had led the sales ranking.
In the overall merchandising, the Lakers were able to overtake the series champion from Golden State. The Warriors have won three of the past four NBA champion titles and have always been the most popular team with their successes, including fan articles.
In the jersey sales curry landed in second place behind James. Other players include "The Greek Freak" Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, Kyrie Irving of the Boston Celtics and Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers. Unlike James, Curry, Antetokounmpo, Irving and Embiid are in the playoffs with their teams and are still hoping to win the championship.
