Swiss food giant Nestlé announced an additional investment of 730 million yuan (about $ 102 million) on Wednesday to boost its business activities in China.
Nestlé and the Administrative Committee of the Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone (TEDA) have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation to build a plant manufacturing plant products, and strengthen the capacity of its local factory d for pet food.
The production line, with an expected annual capacity of 8,000 tonnes, will be the first of its kind from Nestlé in Asia.
In 1994 Nestlé opened its first factory in Tianjin, in northern China.
