Director Steven de Jong is working on a new film in the The Chameleonseries. In the film to be released in theaters next year, the twins who play the lead role will be played by new actors, Just Film Distribution reports Friday.
The new film is the third in the series The Chameleon, based on Hotze de Roos’ children’s books. The schippers of the Chameleon in Chameleon 2 appeared in 2003 and 2005 and were also directed by De Jong. In 2018 he made a series for the NPO about the twins Hielke and Sietse Klinkhamer.
In the film to be released in the summer of 2021, the leading roles are played by Sens and Imme Gerritsen. Some of the actors who can also be seen in the series return. Cas Jansen, for example, plays farmhand Gerben and Michiel Kerbosch can be seen as police officer Zwart. The director again plays the role of father Heit Klinkhamer. Margreet Blanken, Syb van der Ploeg, William Spaaij, Dominique van Vliet and Edo Brunner also play a role.
The recordings for the film started earlier this week in Friesland. The story again revolves around the Klinkhamer brothers, who this time are not allowed to sail with their beloved boat De Kameleon, because he uses diesel and this is prohibited.
