Sudden radio silence at the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) …
Many people asked themselves today: What happened to the report by RKI President Lothar Wieler?
At the beginning of the Corona crisis, Wieler stepped in front of the cameras every day at ten o’clock – but only three times this week. He informed Germany about the latest developments in the corona crisis via live stream (e.g. at BILD and on Facebook).
As of now, this press conference will only be held twice a week, according to the RKI’s BILD request.
The RKI president will not go back to the public until Tuesday next week, a RKI spokeswoman said when asked by BILD. The reason is that Wieler already gave a press conference on Thursday.
Does the RKI president also need a break? The Robert Koch Institute also gave no precise reasoning on request.
A spokeswoman assures: The RKI will nevertheless “provide information about everything important every working day in a situation report”. It is also planned to update the data on new infections also at the weekend.
