Road Trip Turns Violent: Woman Charged wiht Attempted Murder in Wyoming

A 24-year-old woman from New Town, North Dakota, is facing severe charges following a violent incident aboard a vehicle traveling through Wyoming. LaShanda Lynne LaFontaine has been accused of attempted second-degree murder and felony aggravated assault and battery after allegedly stabbing a man in the neck during a road trip to Las Vegas.

The incident Unfolds on Highway 387

The incident occurred on Friday morning around 7:45 a.m.near the Iberlin Ranch airport along Highway 387. According to court documents, LaFontaine was traveling with three others – Effren Velazquez-Rodriguez, the driver of a 2018 Toyota Highlander, and passengers Sonja Mae Fox and Christopher Ezkiel Echola-Linder. The group had departed from North Dakota the previous evening, embarking on a planned trip funded by Velazquez-Rodriguez after receiving a recent paycheck.
