The Mandalika Circuit has finally received confirmation of the date for the World Superbike (WSBK) race. The race will take place in mid-November 2021.
The certainty that the Mandalika Circuit will hold the WSBK race appears in a press release issued by the Mandalika Grand Prix Association. The media broadcast also included the schedule for the Asia Talent Cup race at the Mandalika Circuit.
“The FIM (Federation Internationale de Motcyclisme) and DWO (Dorna WorldSBK Organization) have confirmed Indonesia as the organizer of the inaugural WorldSBK motorcycle race in November 2021,” the statement read.
The WSBK schedule at the Mandalika Circuit will be held on November 19-21 2021. This schedule has been postponed a week from what was previously circulated in the media, namely November 12-14.

The decision to postpone the race schedule was related to logistics delivery considerations. In addition, so that the schedule does not clash with the Valencia MotoGP which will be held on November 14.
“The schedule for the Indonesian round has been shifted 1 week from the original schedule, which was originally scheduled to take place on November 12-14, but has been postponed to November 19-21, 2021, this is due to logistical considerations and also the delivery of goods.”
“In addition, this race has been postponed not only due to technical factors but also so that its implementation does not coincide with the MotoGP final which took place in Valencia, and also no less exciting on November 12-14 for the first time Mandalika will host the IATC event (Idemitsu). With this certainty, the Asia Talent Cup and World Superbike 2021 will be the first two races to be held at the Mandalika Circuit. Next season, the Mandalika Circuit is targeted to be able to hold a MotoGP race, after Dorna confirmed that Indonesia would be allocated a pre-season test.
WSBK comeback to Indonesia
This is not the first time Indonesia has held WSBK. In the 1990s, the race also stopped by. At that time the race was held at the Sentul Circuit.
At that time, Indonesia held WSBK for four seasons, from 1994 to 1997.
