He is waiting for the result of the second to be able to fly to Japan, ”Philippe Vander Putten, CEO of the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (COIB), said at noon in Tokyo on Friday. “In the meantime, he is in great shape, has no symptoms and continues to train in Belgium”.

Jelle Geens is the first Belgian selected to be a victim of Covid and deprived of competition at the Olympic Games due to the coronavirus. The OCIB did not know whether the athlete had been vaccinated or not.
