Opening iFixit: you can correct the new Mac Mini

The IFixit specialists continue to study the anatomy of the latest Apple devices: after the MacBook Air, a computer with a reduced form factor, Mac Mini, was prepared.

Recall that the new Mac Mini is equipped with an Intel Core processor of the eighth generation with four or six cores. The amount of RAM reaches 64 GB.

The computer design provides for the use of a solid state drive with a capacity of up to 2 TB. 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 wireless adapters are available, Thunderbolt 3 interfaces, HDMI 2.0, USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, etc.

An autopsy revealed that the mini-computer uses a Toshiba solid-state drive, a Broadcom BCM57788 Gigabit Ethernet network controller, an Intel JHL7540 Thunderbolt 3 controller, a Wi-Fi / Bluetooth Murata 339S00458 wireless module, a Cirrus Logic CS42L83 audio codec and other components.

In general, the new Mac Mini has a good maintenance: six out of ten points possible. The experts at IFixit emphasize the absence of too strong adhesive and the relative ease of disassembly. In addition, the standard modules used SO-DIMM memory, which offers the possibility of their replacement.

At the same time, the processor and the flash unit are soldered to the motherboard, due to which their update is impossible. A failure of any door will lead to the need to replace the entire motherboard.

If you notice an error, select it with the mouse and press CTRL + ENTER.
