Beijing, Bolong.id – OPPO launching smartphones Reno10, Wednesday (24/5). Goes on sale June 2023, with price from 2,499 Yuan (Rp. 5,284).
Reported from Shanghai Daily (24/05/2023) Reno10 features optimized photography, super-fast charging and a lightweight design.
This is the 10th generation of the Reno product line targeting the general consumer, with more than 80 million users worldwide, according to Liu Bo, president of OPPO China.
“OPPO continues to beautify the user experience most commonly used in Reno products with technological innovations, from portrait image quality, thin and light design, longer battery life to fast charging and a seamless experience. That is what we value the most,” Liu said in a press conference on Wednesday.
Prior to the release of this product, OPPO unexpectedly announced that it would be closing its chip division with 3,000 employees. Analysts cited challenges, including sluggish market demand, large investments and difficulties related to the pandemic, for the decision.
The new release, which includes the Reno10 model, two new tablets and headphones, expresses the strong trust of OPPO, added the analyst. The company, which is headquartered in Dongguan, became the No.1 smartphone vendor in the domestic market in the first quarter.
China’s smartphone market sales fell 11.8% year on year to 65.4 million units in the first quarter. OPPO took the top spot with 19.6 percent market share, followed by Apple, Vivo, Honor and Xiaomi, according to researcher International Data Corp or IDC.
Chart based on IDC’s latest report on China’s smartphone sales. Sales (blue) have continued to decline by more than 10 percent (yellow line) every quarter since 2022.
