Seville, Aug 9 (EFE) .- Active outbreaks in Andalusia amount to 96, ten more than yesterday, after having registered 14 new ones in the last twenty-four hours and having exceeded another four in the same period, while those confirmed by PCR of yesterday to today have been 309, seven less than yesterday.
Of these 96, the Ministry of Health considers 15 under control (the rest are under investigation), while in the entire region there are 51 outbreaks that are no longer active and are considered “overcome”.
The 96 active outbreaks register a total of 978 infected people, although the last fourteen outbreaks registered in the last twenty-four hours add 69 affected.
Half of the last 14 outbreaks that have been registered have been in the province of Malaga, while in Granada two have been detected, and one in those of Seville, Huelva, Cádiz, Jaén and Córdoba.
The total number of cases confirmed by PCR since the beginning of the pandemic in Andalusia is 16,623, that of cured 16,514 and that of deaths 1,452.
In Andalusian hospitals there are 100 patients confirmed with covid-19, of which 17 are in ICUs.
By provinces, in Almería there are 42 hospitalizations, of which 10 in ICU; in Cádiz 10 of which 2 in ICU; in Córdoba 10 of which 1 in ICU; in Granada 12 of which 1 in ICU; in Huelva 3 of which 1 in ICU; in Jaén 3 and none in ICU; in Malaga 15 of which 1 in ICU; and in Seville 5 of which 1 in ICU.
According to data from the Andalusian Institute of Statistics and Cartography (IECA), the total number of cases registered in the region since the beginning of the pandemic is 21,500, of which 2,247 have been diagnosed in the last fourteen days and, of these, 1,418 in the last seven days. EFE
