Oversubscribed 10.3 Times, Bank Mandiri Global Bond Attracts Fund Managers and Asset Managers

TEMPO.CO, JakartaMandiri Bank raised funding of 300 million United States dollars (US) or around IDR 4.5 trillion from the issuance of global bonds which will be used for the development of the Company’s business.

“The global bond has a 3-year tenor with a coupon of 5.5 percent. In issuing this global bond, Bank Mandiri appointed HSBC (The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited), J.P. Morgan, Mandiri Securities, Citigroup, MUFG (Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group), dan Standard Chartered Bank sebagai Joint Lead Managers,” said Bank Mandiri Treasury and International Banking Executive Officer Eka Fitria in an official statement, in Jakarta, Wednesday 30 March 2023.

The global bond issuance is said to have received more than US$3.1 billion in requests during the process orderbook or excess demand (oversubscription) reached 10.3 times the number published.

“This is oversubscription the biggest ever achieved by Bank Mandiri,” he also said.

According to Eka, level oversubscription the highest in the history of the issuance of Bank Mandiri Global Bonds is an achievement and proof that investors believe in Bank Mandiri’s performance amidst the rise of negative market sentiment towards the banking sector and global markets.
