The professor and researcher emeritus of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Antonio Lazcano, assured that the proposal of the federal deputy, Dolores Padierna, to extinguish 44 federal government trusts, including various funds for scientific research, is a reflection of the lack of knowledge you have in science and medicine during the health emergency due to COVID-19.

“I think it is a reflection of disdain of the deputy Dolores Padierna who does not have behind her a dazzling career and consistent, but it is a reflection of the lack of knowledge that the role of science in the crisis we are facing is showing, at a moment where it is perfectly obvious and clear, since the scientific community is playing a fundamental role in trying to end the problem of the pandemic, he detailed.
The researcher said that in the scientific centers genes are being sequenced and the genome of the virus is being sequenced, since drugs are also designed to attack the virus; apart from the fact that dissemination work is being done that the federal government should have done since the beginning of the emergency.
“Infrastructure is being generated like the fans that have been done at UNAM and the National Institute of Nutrition, psychological therapies are being set up to help victims of attacks against women and girls, and what it really shows is a lack of sensitivity that reflects irresponsibility without limits ”, he stressed.
The measure proposed by Padierna would allow recover 91 billion pesos.
