PDI thwarts violent assault on WOM branch in downtown Santiago
A group of seven criminals arrived at the store located in Catedral with San Martín. At least three of them were armed and, when they escaped, they started a shootout.
This Wednesday morning, a group of seven subjects arrived at the branch of the company WOM, located at the intersection of Catedral with San Martín, in the heart of Santiago. The group threatened all staff with firearms and they intimidated them into handing out high-end smartphones.
At the moment when the subjects were about to join, a patrol of the Criminal Investigation Brigade of the PDI, who was on patrol, noticed the assault, rexpelling the subjects.

According to preliminary information provided by witnesses, the criminals fired at the uniformed men and as a result, there was a shooting.
Sub-prefect Héctor Moya, from Bicrim, explained that “the people were armed, at least three of them. Our police personnel made use of their service weapons. We do not have injured people and all the staff of the premises are unharmed”.
On the other hand, he specified 24 Afternoon, that the capture of one of the criminals, of Chilean nationality and with a police record, was achieved.
Regarding the equipment, these were abandoned by the subjects in the same store. The loot is valued at more than $ 60 million.
The Investigative Police are looking for the other six criminals.
