Persija Has Deal to Use JIS Stadium

Jakarta

Manager Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) stated that it had reached an agreement with Persija Jakarta regarding the use of the stadium.

“In principle, our stadium can be used as a home base for several teams. If Persija has an MoU, we have already exchanged drafts,” Business Director of PT Jakpro Gunung Kartiko in a meeting with Commission E of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Tuesday (28/6).

In accordance with previously circulated news, Persija will not play all of their matches at the JIS Stadium. Patriot Chandrabhaga Stadium in Bekasi was also registered by Persija to PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB).

Persija will only hold matches at the JIS Stadium if the crowd is interested, such as against Persib Bandung, Arema FC, to Persebaya Surabaya. The rest, other Persija matches were played at the Patriot Stadium.

“In the end, it was decided with them for a match that really requires a large venue, it will be at JIS, but for a team match that does not produce a large audience they will use the Patriot Stadium,” said Gunung Kartiko.

Such a scheme has already been implemented Persija since previous seasons. Before the JIS Stadium, the Kemayoran Tigers also housed at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) and the Patriot Stadium.

Just like JIS Stadium, SUGBK is only used for big parties. Meanwhile, the match against Persela Lamongan or Borneo FC was held at the Patriot Stadium.

Understandably, the two stadiums apply different rental fees. SUGBK or JIS Stadium is definitely more expensive than Patriot Stadium.

If the audience is below 40 thousand, it will be a loss for Persija if they play at SUGBK or JIS Stadium. Fortunately, there is a Patriot Stadium that they can use as a second home.

“So it’s a long-term MoU. The MoU is still a draft. The signing will be in the near future. PT LIB yesterday visited what we had to complete in accordance with LIB standards,” said Gunung Kartiko.

“So not all of them will be at JIS because it is too big and the cost is too heavy for them (Persija). So they assign patriots for team matches that are not big enough. Persija I will still pay the rent,” he said.
