The seasonal debut in the CEV Champions League does not reserve satisfactions for Trentino Volley. The start of the eleventh participation in the maximum continental trophy coincided with a setback at the PalaBarton in Perugia; the hosts of Sir Sicoma Monini in fact secured the match valid for the first round of Pool E of the competition tonight by 3-0, immediately jumping to the top of the standings (position to be shared with Fenerbahce).
Although generous and combative, Trentino Itas still have regrets for not having continued the match at least until the fourth set, during a match that was uncertain and fought for two sets. The Gialloblù held the field well in the first period, losing contact with the opponent only in the final stages, and then they showed great character in the third game as well. Badly lost the second set, Kaziyski and his teammates found themselves heavily underneath also in the next one, but managed to get back on top from 18-24 to 23-24 before giving way to their opponents. Despite foreseeable difficulties in reception, the Trentino team nevertheless managed to offer moments of good volleyball, which mainly passed through the hands of Michieletto and Lavia, the only two yellow and blue who finished the match in double figures: 14 points for Alessandro with two ace and a block, 10 for Daniele with 45% on the net and a block. Podrascanin’s return was also positive: 5 winning balls with 62% in the first half.
