Petkovic asks to be relieved of his post

The Swiss newspaper “Blick” reported that the coach of her country’s football team, Vladimir Petkovic, asked to be relieved of his position in order to supervise the technical management of the French club Bordeaux.
“Yes, it is true that Vladimir Petkovic asked to be released from the termination of his contract,” the tabloid quoted Vinicio Fioranelli, “a close friend of the Swiss coach for years as an agent and friend.”
She explained that Bordeaux club had contacts less than ten days ago with the 57-year-old coach, who is seen as the main architect of the success of the Swiss national team.
The Swiss team starred remarkably in the last European Cup, by stripping the defending champion France from the final price round 5-4 on penalties (original and extra time 3-3), before narrowly exiting the quarter-finals and penalty shootouts against Spain 1-3 (original and extra time). 1-1).
But the newspaper highlighted that it is not certain that the Swiss Football Association will abandon the services of its Croatian-Bosnian-born coach, who has supervised his training since 2014.
“The question is still open, because it is very likely that the Swiss Confederation will accept only in exchange for financial compensation,” she added.
Fioranilli gave details of the Swiss coach’s current contract by saying: “When Vladimir Petkovic extended his contract, for a new term until the end of the 2022 World Cup, the termination clause was set by a joint agreement stipulating that the coach could move to a high-level tournament, that is, in Germany or England. Or Italy, Spain or France, for a symbolic sum, yet he was assured that no obstacle would be placed in his way if he received such an offer.”
For its part, the newspaper continued, that the Swiss business agent “said that Petkovic’s request to leave was initially rejected” by the Swiss Football Association, noting that the contract negotiated with Bordeaux extends for three years.
