Among the seized, from the woman in Falcón, there were 10 packages of gloves, five boxes of salbutamol, amlodipine, in addition to four boxes of enalapril maleate, losartan potassium, levofloxacin, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole and cefadroxil.
At the request of the Public Ministry, the pharmacy assistant Paula Carolina Álvarez was deprived of liberty, for her alleged responsibility in the theft of medicines belonging to the Venezuelan Institute of Social Security.
The situation was detected on August 19 after a complaint made to the Falcón State Police (Polifalcón).
During the aforementioned day, a commission of officials from the regional Police appeared at the facilities of the Dr. José Reyes outpatient clinic, located in Punto Fijo, to verify the complaint about the alleged marketing of drugs belonging to said medical center.
Álvarez was found at the scene in possession of 10 packages of gloves, five boxes of salbutamol, amlodipine, in addition to four boxes of enalapril maleate, losartan potassium, levofloxacin, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, and cefadroxil.
In the same way, the now accused was found three solutions of 0.9, three boxes of oxacillin, klamoks fort, azithromycin, amoxicillin and three bottles of ibuprofen in suspension,
In turn, two ketoprofen vials, two clavulanic acid blisters, a pair of boxes of sodium bicarbonate oral suspension, erythromycin, and a box of cephalexin were located.
As a result of all that was found, Álvarez was arrested in flagrante delicto and placed under the order of the Public Ministry.
At the presentation hearing, the Falcón 7th Prosecutor’s Office charged the lady with the alleged commission of intentional embezzlement and influence peddling.
Once the elements of conviction were exposed on the part of the fiscal representation, the 1st Control Court issued the imprisonment against Álvarez and set his confinement in Zone 2 of Polifalcón, located in Punto Fijo.
