Borrowing office raid (loan online) by the police is now carried out everywhere. The raids were carried out after President Joko Widodo highlighted the illegal loans that were troubling the public.
Jokowi’s statement was then followed up by the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. General Sigit ordered his ranks to act.
“Illegal pinjol crimes are very detrimental to the community so special handling steps are needed. Carry out eradication efforts with pre-emptive, preventive, and repressive strategies,” said Sigit in giving directions to the Regional Police through video conference at the National Police Headquarters as stated in a written statement last Tuesday (12/10/2021).

Pinjol Office Raid: Here’s the List
The following is a list of pinjols that were raided by the police until Friday (15/10);
- Illegal Pinjol in West Jakarta was raided on Thursday (14/10), 56 people were arrested.
- The loan collection office in Tangerang was raided on Thursday (14/10). The police raided PT Indo Tekno Nusantara (ITN). The company is known to be in charge of loan collection services.
- The illegal loan office in Yogyakarta was secured by the police. There were 83 debt collectors arrested. The raid was carried out after there was a report from a victim named Tedy Mulyadi to the West Java Police.
- A total of 7 illegal lending offices in Jakarta were raided by the Directorate of Special Economic Crimes (Dittipideksus) of the Indonesian Police Criminal Investigation Department. 7 people were arrested from illegal loan offices in North Jakarta and West Jakarta. Dirtipideksus Bareskrim Brigadier General Helmy Santika said the perpetrators’ duties were as debt collectors and SMS blasting operators. During the raid, evidence was found such as laptops, CPUs, up to hundreds of items sim card.
President Jokowi’s Instructions Regarding Pinjol
Borrowing office raid It started with a statement by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) that highlighted pinjol. He heard stories of miserable people entangled in pinjol.
Initially, Jokowi highlighted the development of digitalization of the financial world when he opened the 2021 OJK Virtual Innovation Day event. Jokowi then talked about loans that were colored by fraud and interest that suffocated the public.
“But at the same time I also received information that many frauds and financial crimes had occurred. I heard that the lower class were deceived and ensnared by high interest rates by online loans, who were pressured in various ways to repay their loans,” Jokowi said.
